So, those fools thought they could destroy her! Catherine stomped through the dense fog, getting angrier by the moment. And if she had to listen to Matt tell Maddy again how everything was going to be all right, she was going to scream. By this time tomorrow night, she would have complete control over Maddy’s body.

She tossed a heated gaze around the empty wasteland called limbo. How she hated this infernal place with its suffocating mist. She narrowed her eyes on the foggy distance and clenched her jaw. It was positively claustrophobic in here, but she didn’t have a choice being stuck in this cavity of space. She had known this was where the possession spell would send her upon her death and she had to accept it. Besides, she only had one more day in this soundless void with no shapes, no horizon, just an empty, never-ending trail of nothingness.

She sensed the warm embrace Matt was, at this moment, giving Maddy and Catherine severed her connection to the white witch’s body. She needed a break from all that hugging and kissing and tenderness. Those two were as nauseatingly affectionate as Leo and Sam.

At the thought of Leo, her mouth curled. Killing her was actually the best thing he could have done for her. Her initial plan was to possess his wife and Catherine remembered precisely when her plan had changed and she had targeted Maddy as her victim. Catherine had possessed Sam for a few minutes right when Sam had been in the middle of a conversation with Leo. He had been talking about Matt and his one, the white witch, and how content he was his friend of two centuries had found true love. Catherine had not been able to believe her luck. A white witch existed. The decision to move to Maddy had been an obvious one.

Yes, by tomorrow evening all would be well. Catherine just needed to focus and save her energy. The exorcism Matt and Maddy had planned was going to be Catherine’s last stand and then no one could stop her.

As soon as Catherine claimed Maddy’s body and acquired her powers, Catherine would kill Effy and Garos. Taking his place at the helm of the lycan underworld would be easy.

As for Matt, her newly acquired powers would make him do anything for her.
